I was so happy about my night sky photograph! I dread taking night shots. I've never felt comfortable with them and to pull it off with a storm coming down and to be chosen as photo of the day...made my month!

I struggled with the sacrifice prompt. I wasn't sure what I was going to photograph but I wanted to evoke emotion, pain, and tears. I believe I accomplished this based on the feedback I received. I did nothing more than pose my daughter with her grandfather's flag. I asked her to hold it a certain way, which she didn't do, and I told her not to look at me. This was the result, this photograph is all her. Her eyes and body language tell a story and it feels so haunting. I was beyond happy to see it was chosen as Photo of the Day.
