You Capture {Pastels}
Believe it or not I had a hard time with Pastel this week...

While technically not pastel, I couldn't resist this Bleeding Heart. |

Can you say one heck of an Easter egg hunt? |

These cuties belonged to my baby sister. She was going to throw them out but our Mommy saved them. Now our children play with them when visiting. |

You Capture {Peach}
I got lazy this week. Well scratch that, I just didn't see any peach inspiration. :(
Today we went out for groceries and right before we left the produce section I spotted some gorgeous peaches. They were just calling my name (or at least my tummy knew their names). LOL.
So here's my last minute attempt at Peach. I also used 3 different lenses for this shoot! I whipped out my trusty 50mm 1.4, my new lovely 35mm 1.8 and my beloved 40mm macro! <3
And to answer that nagging question...yes. They were just as juicy and delicious as they look. ;)

Sadly, Beth continues to get hackers attacking her site every other day.
Once this weeks link is up I will post it so you can visit all the lovely peachiness that awaits.

You Capture {Doors}
This weeks challenge was, well a challenge. "Doors" can be interpreted in a variety of ways. For me the struggle was, again, leaving my comfort zone as there aren't that many interesting doors in my neighborhood, let alone my home.
I loved getting out and just looking. I saw soooo many great subjects, but I was too wussy to ask permission to take photographs. Yes, I ask permission before taking pictures of others property, and I don't have a zoom lens so that takes that aspect off the table. ;)
So I will begin with my own door. Our peep hole in the front door often creates a late afternoon rainbow on another door inside our home and the kids LOVE to poke at it. They never can seem to pick it up as hard as they try.
Earlier this week me and baby boy took a drive and wound up in the sticks where we came across this fabulous old church. I can only imagine how gorgeous the windows and door must have been.
Today I set out on my own (yeah for Mommy time) and I went back to an old favorite. I stopped in at the neighbors house to make sure it was okay first, but I'm tickled that I was finally able to get up close to these beauties.

You Capture {Looking In}
I have really missed doing You Capture, and getting back into it these past few weeks has reminded me why. It's a great skill builder and it helps you think outside the box. Not that any of this weeks captures are that creative, but it allowed me to capture little moments I probably would have overlooked had I not been in the mindset that this was our next challenge.

You Capture {Still Life}
I had a massive list of ideas to try for this weeks challenge, alas the week got away from me so I settled for a tasty snack... It still made me stop and see things just a little different. :)

You Capture {Colorful}
This past Sunday I took a photography course with a local photographer. I'm not going to mention who that person was, as I was left unimpressed. I didn't learn anything I already didn't know, nor were we actually taught anything. We paid to be told "set your camera to xx + xx setting, okay now let's go shoot." Ummm, it left a bitter taste in my mouth for certain. WHY am I putting my camera in that setting? What situation is that mode best suited? Seriously, it was a waste of my money. But it did reassure me that I DO know how to operate my camera, so I guess there's that, right? I just wish they would have told us WHY you shoot with certain settings. Cause and effect, you know what I mean?

I LOVED this building. Each and every window sill is painted a gorgeous jewel tone. SS 1/8000 | f/4.0 | 50mm | ISO 800 |

This little patch of cobblestone peaked out and caught my attention. Just a bright little pop of color in an asphalt world. SS 1/1250 | f/3.5 | 50mm | ISO 800 |

I happened to notice that one of the artists was working on a mural down the alley. I quietly snuck down there & asked permission to shoot him in action and he obliged me. There are a couple more shots on my Flickr gallery. SS 1/5000 | f/2.8 | 50mm | ISO 800 |
